The Joy Of The Lord Is Your Strength – Part 2

By: Ronke Immanuel

]]>

If our joy is found in the Lord, nothing can disrupt it, not even economic crisis or credit crunch. The Word of God tells us in Habakkuk 3:17-18, “Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in my Saviour.”

Wow! This is definitely the God-kind of joy and it is the secret of real joy. We can endure trials in this life because of the joys in the life to come. Knowing that our sovereign God will walk with us and use trials to deepen our maturity, we can count them all joy. Apostle James tells us, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.” James 1:2-3

Perseverance enables us to be mature and complete, not lacking anything. Trials do not happen without a reason and in the midst of them; we should thank God for all He is doing in our life, and not lose our joy. We should learn to break forth in songs, rejoice and sing praises to the Almighty God. Praise is the overflow of a joyful heart and we have so much to thank God for. And a song in your heart puts a smile on your face.

Sing Psalms to the Lord and talk of His wondrous works. Sing of the SUN of Righteousness who has risen with healing in His wings, leaving behind a lingering memory of His love. No matter what we are going through, if we are walking with Jesus, we can still rejoice. Joy comes from the Lord, who lives in us, and not what is happening around us.

We can never find true joy until we obey Christ’s command to “seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33. Unless God is a major pursuit of our lives, all other pursuits are not worth it. So when we go after God, He will fill us with His joy and His goodness.

In the darkest times of our lives, God loves to turn “our mourning into dancing.” His Word tells us in Psalm 30:5b, “Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.” There is lasting love and joy in Jesus Christ and when we trust in His goodness, we find gladness. A heart touched by grace brings joy to the face.

By depending on the Holy Spirit, we can have a positive impact on everyone we meet, even if all we do is smile or listen. The Lord fills us with joy unspeakable and we are full of His glory. Child of God, let the joy of the Lord be your strength and the shout of joy will be heard in your dwelling. Let your heart be continually filled with His joy and you shall not eat the bread of sorrow, in Jesus’ exalted name. AMEN

PRAYER OF SALVATION

If you have not already committed your life to Jesus and you would like to do so now, please pray this prayer:

“Lord Jesus, I am sorry for all the things I have done wrong. Thank you for dying for me on the cross, to set me free from my sins. I ask you to come into my life as my personal Lord and Saviour, and fill me with the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord Jesus. Amen.”

Congratulations, if you have prayed this prayer. Please look for a Bible-believing church, to fellowship with the brethren. Please do not hesitate to contact me, if I can be of any assistance to you. Remain blessed and enjoy the presence of the Lord.

Mysticism and Prophecy in the Christian Church

A question was asked in an on-line forum, “How can we religious promote the spirit of mysticism and prophecy in the Christian people?” It took me couple of days to consider this question and whether I wanted to attempt to answer it. The following is my attempt to adequately define the terms mysticism and prophecy and their place in the Christian Church today.

How much do you value your family?

Our family should play a very important part in our lives and the family unit is of God. But as the saying goes familiarly breeds contempt, when we get familiar with something or someone often time we can neglect the person or thing that we are familiar with. Our family could be one of those people we start to neglect.

An extraordinary woman

I and my family went to church regularly, we always go to church every Sunday because first of all, members of our family are complete and it’s our family day also. In the church while I was staring at Jesus image and at the same time praying, I pray and repent every time I’m in the church.

Quotable Quotes for A.A. History Lovers, by Dick B

Few in A.A. or in the recovery community of scholars, writers, and counselors have any idea of how powerful the concept of a relationship with Jesus Christ was in early Alcoholics Anonymous. Here, with quotes of Bill Wilson’s physician Dr. William D. Silkworth; of the first three AAs–Wilson, Smith, and Dotson; and of Cleveland A.A. Clarence H. Snyder, the facts about A.A., Jesus Christ, the “Great Physician,” and the cure of alcoholism are laid out for all to view

The battle Is The Lord’s And Not Yours – Part 1

In the secular world, a battle is described as a fight between two opposing individuals, a contest or a struggle towards a goal. But a spiritual battle is waged by satan, the enemy of our soul, against the people of God. Whatever battle you are facing, when you focus on the enemy, you stumble, but when you focus on God, the enemy stumbles. Satan specializes in fighting God’s children, but he is a defeated foe and he can never win.

The battle Is The Lord’s And Not Yours – Part 2

The bible tells us about the story of David and Goliath, who was a 9ft tall giant. Goliath was from the Philistine camp and he came to fight on behalf of the Philistines, who were waging war against the Israelites. The Israelites were afraid of Goliath, but David, who was a small shepherd boy, decided to take on Goliath, to the surprise of the Israelites.

The battle Is The Lord’s And Not Yours – Part 3

Regardless of whether the giant you face is addiction, lust, fear, unbelief, resentment, pride, anger or envy, you must realize that you are not unique. Your temptations are no different from what others experience. Goliath was not always a giant; he was fed and nurtured until he became one. Sometimes, our giants are usually little sins we overlook until they come back to torment us.

The battle Is The Lord’s And Not Yours – Part 4

There are some battles in which the Lord tells you to do something, which is your own part, and then He will do His own part. But you must always listen to the voice of God and know for sure what He is saying to you. Do not assume, as this is very dangerous. Get divine direction from the Lord and do not go ahead of Him. Always do what is right as revenge restrained is a victory gained.
